An Integrated Benchmark Suite for Database Systems

چکیده
This paper is a preliminary description on an integrated benchmark suite for database systems, SIMS, which offers generic benchmarks and custom benchmarks to users in a unified interface. Currently SIMS supports three generic benchmarks (Wisconsin, BORD, and TPC-C) and four user-defined benchmarks. Any new custom benchmarks can be easily accommodated into SIMS. SIMS consists of four modules. Each module is implemented as a single operating system process and it has exactly one parameter file. Regarding data generation, eight data distributions are supported on three data types. The data generation module seems to be comprehensive in terms of simulating a real world situation.

A Benchmark Suite for Behavior-Based Security Mechanisms
This paper presents a benchmark suite for evaluating behavior-based security mechanisms. Behavior-based mechanisms are used to protect computer systems from intrusion and detect malicious code embedded in legitimate applications. They complement signature-based mechanisms (e.g., anti-virus software) by tackling zero-day attacks whose signatures have not been added yet to the signature database,...
متن کاملA Look Back on the XML Benchmark Project
Database vendors and researchers have been responding to the establishing of XML [6] as the premier data interchange language for Internet applications with the integration of XML processing capabilities into Database Management Systems. The new features fall into two categories: XML-enabled interfaces allow the DBMS to speak and understand XML formats, whereas XML extensions add novel primitiv...
متن کاملAn analytical model based on simulation aiming to improve patient flow in a hospital surgical suite
Surgical suits allocate a large amount of expenses to hospitals; on the other hand, they constitute a huge part of hospital revenues. Patient flow optimization in a surgical suite by omitting or reducing bottlenecks which cause loss of time is one of the key solutions in minimizing the patients’ length of stay[1] (LOS) in the system, lowering the expenses, increasing efficiency, and also enhanc...
متن کاملRADBench: A Concurrency Bug Benchmark Suite
Testing and debugging tools for concurrent programs are often validated on known bugs. To aid the development of these tools, we present the Race, Atomicity, and Deadlock Benchmark (RADBench) suite. The RADBench suite contains the full source of 10 real concurrency bugs found in large open-source software projects including Mozilla SpiderMonkey, Mozilla NSPR, Memcached, Apache Web Server, and G...
متن کاملSTR2RTS: Refactored StreamIT Benchmarks into Statically Analyzable Parallel Benchmarks for WCET Estimation & Real-Time Scheduling
We all had quite a time to find non-proprietary architecture-independent exploitable parallel benchmarks for Worst-Case Execution Time (WCET) estimation and real-time scheduling. However, there is no consensus on a parallel benchmark suite, when compared to the single-core era and the Mälardalen benchmark suite [11]. This document bridges part of this gap, by presenting a collection of benchmar...
